Paul W.S. Anderson recently sat down to an interview with Collider and they brought up the sixth ‘Resident Evil’ film where he has released the working title for the movie. As it has long been rumored that this will be the last movie in the franchise (at least that he and Milla Jovovich are attached to) it shouldn’t be too surprising at his response.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is the working title. It may be the final title, but that’s what’s written on the front page of my script.
‘The Final Chapter’ sure sounds like a good end cap to a series. (You know, unless it makes a shitload of money and the studio pushes for a seventh installment to happen.) This sixth film is set to be done in 3D and a draft of the script is set to be finalized this coming September. As this is just a working title there is no guarantee it won’t change or they aren’t just messing with us but after 12 years of working on the series so far I’m sure everyone involved is probably ready to put this one in the ground.
