Usually when you hear about comic to television (or movie) pick ups these days it is from the big two, Marvel or DC. So it’s kind of surprising and interesting to hear that Animal Planet is picking up IDW’s ‘The Other Dead’.
The series is set to be a live-action show and will premiere early 2016. What is it about? Well that is where things get strange as you see a zombie plague that infects a huge variety of animals that are working together to get the help of humanity to save them. They go so far up the food chain that even President Obama ends up being a part of the series. They should really push back development for a couple of years to use him personally when he’s out of office. I’m sure he won’t have anything else to do.
According to Animal Planet’s Vice President of Development Kurt Tondorf, “Our stylistic and creative ambitions as a network happily found their echo in the pages of The Other Dead, We’re rabid about bringing Josh and Digger’s bold, wry and unrelenting vision to life.”
