Robert Kirkman is good at not giving us outright spoilers of what might be ahead on ‘The Walking Dead’ but in a recent interview he did share a bit of what might be coming up in the current season of the series. So what exactly did he share? Well for started now that the majority of the characters are back together they won’t be searching for one another and the show will get “a little more action packed for a while” which has clearly already proven to be true.
Also if you are a fan of the comic and feel things have swayed a little far out from the source material, well clearly the mix up with the Hunters was a throwback to the comics but that’s not all! “Season 5 is, more than any other season, following the comics very closely,†Kirkman said. “There’s more comic book moments being adapted than there have been in any previous season, so there’s a lot of cool stuff for the comic fans coming up and a lot of stuff they will recognize, but of course we’ll be doing some stuff in different ways. . . There are a lot of cool key moments that come directly from the comics.”
While he won’t outright say what all of the comic story lines that will be followed he does hint at one that we’ll see which, if true to the comics, will put one character on the verge of not being too popular once the arc comes to it’s conclusion, “The biggest thing for Season 5 is that the story completely changes. . . There’s a mission to this season — this mission of getting to Washington and if there’s a cure there and if there’s infrastructure there and security there. What is it that is actually in Washington? I think that having our characters suddenly be driven with a goal that they can actually accomplish is changing how we tell stories in a big way. The episodes of this season are going to feel a bit different than how the show’s felt before.”
