George A. Romero’s 15 issue Marvel Comic ‘Empire of the Dead’ is getting a TV adaptation and thanks to the fine folks over at Blastr we’ve found a great quote that shares his excitement for the series!
I think I’ll hopefully be directing a couple of [the episodes]. First of all, it has to get made. All we have is a deal to write it and pre-produce it. We don’t have a production deal yet, but our fingers are crossed and it looks good. So we’ll see. But I hope to direct a couple, and I’m writing the pilot and probably at least most of the first season if it flies.
Oh how I hope that production deal goes through soon. Not only was I a fan of the series but seeing Romero direct something new has me thrilled! Especially something that is completely his creation. Let’s hope this happens soon folks! The Godfather Of Zombies is back and mixing our favorite form of the undead with the bloodsucking kind in one of his greatest stories in years! Let’s hope the small screen adaptation can do it justice.
