From a beautiful City to the world’s best Pizza, Chicago really has it all. What it hasn’t had though is a zombie musical and now that is set to change as MCL Chicago plans to introduce the zombie musical loosely based off of ‘Les Miserables’ in a Windy City shortly after the zombie outbreak.
The story for the show is:
It’s the year 2023 and the zombie apocalypse has ravaged Chicago. A former lawyer, John Von Jovi, has been bitten and eaten several humans when he is saved by a sympathetic Priest from the evangelical zombie hunter Chesthair. Von Jovi then vows to redeem his life by adopting the daughter of a down on her luck prostitute amidst a human/zombie revolution.
According to MCL Chicago Artistic Director Alex Garday:
We cannot wait to showcase one of the many talented artists we collaborate with on a larger scale. This production has everything a Chicago audience wants in homegrown theater: original music, Chicago style comedy, and zombies.
The show will run on Fridays from September 18th-30th with a special performance on October 31st.
