While I’ll always still argue this isn’t a zombie film its close enough to be worth talking about especially with how fun the films have been. With the impact it has had on zombie films in general you just can’t dismiss the “28 * Later” series.
With early word that ’28 Months Later’ might finally be happening it seems that director Danny Boyle isn’t as against directing the film as he once had been made out to be. In a recent interview he said that:
I’ve got no problem [with that],†Boyle said. “It’s the usual thing: it’s not about whether people think it’s a good idea that you’re directing. It’s whether you respond to the script or not. It’s just like on [Steve Jobs]. I got the script and I went, ‘That was amazing. I hope I can add to that somehow and it be even better than just the experience of reading it.’
SO it all depends what Alex Garland does with the script and with producer Andrew Macdonald being on board it may help convince Boyle to make the movie we all really want to see.
It’s not quite ready to go, but, there’s been a bit of work done on that,†he revealed. “It’s in a process at the moment and I wouldn’t have any inhibition about being involved in it at all. It’s amazing what has happened to the zombie genre since we made [28 Days Later]
