We’ve all played zombie shooters at some point. We aim using the mouse and shoot zombies using the crosshair on our computer screen. We shoot them in the head – they die. We shoot them in the body, and well, they stand up and keep coming at us.
Zombie games are fun but not all are thrilling. Except for a couple of titles such as Dying Light and the original Resident Evil, zombie games today are more about shooting than the actual horror experience.
Thankfully, there’s a company that offers a complete interactive recreation of what will happen in the event of a zombie apocalypse. It’s 10 times the horror experience, as zombies will come and get you, and all you have is a lousy paintball machine gun.
The game works like this: you become part of a “Zombie Assault Team,” which is actually just a makeshift team of zombie killing newbies like yourself. You’re tasked to clear 4 zones, all of which are overrun by hordes of zombies. It takes about 45 minutes to finish, and the combined size of the zones are equivalent to 2 football fields. Sounds tiring? Well, it’s part of the experience.
You’ll be given a .50 caliber paintball shotgun for elimination. This means that the zombies will be up close and personal before you can shoot them. Shotguns, after all, don’t have the range to cover long shots. The zombies at Combat Zone are like the ones in World War Z — fast, hungry, and will catch up to you. If you’re planning on participating, you must wear running shoes and comfortable clothes.
Las Vegas welcomes millions of visitors per month, and that can be attributed to new attractions such as this one. With Las Vegas casino sales dwindling thanks to the presence of online gaming — which makes it easier for anyone to play casino games wherever they are while interacting with actual live dealers on their blackjack or roulette tables – the city has started opening up its doors to other demographics. If in the past gamblers dominated the city, now, it is filled with cyclists, hikers, expo attendees and people who are curious about shooting zombies with a paintball gun.
