The original ‘Into the Dead’ has over 60 million downloads with ‘Breakneck’ having passed 5 million so they are no stranger to mobile gamers and Gamblit has figured out how to release “gamblified” versions of these games to incorporate real money into them.
According to Gamblit Gaming chief marketing officer Darion Lowenstein:
It’s important because we get access to games that customers already know and love and then bring it into a new venue. It brings a new revenue stream to an independent developer. Consumers get to play a title that they already know how to play. We see this as a way for casinos to capture a younger audience.
PikPok’s managing director Mario Wynands added:
It’s an exciting new opportunity to us. It takes our portfolio into skill-based gaming and generates new revenue for us. To us, it’s like creating an arcade game experience.
An interesting concept all around but will game players be willing to gamble with their skills against the undead? If microtransactions in mobile games are any indication this seems like a perfect fit for the future of casino gaming.
