Where We Left Off on ‘The Walking Dead’ and a Look at Season 7

The Walking Dead creators discuss the jolting shift from good to bad in Season 6 and hint at what’s to come.

“The overconfidence of Rick Grimes and his group led to them finding themselves in a very tenuous situation with a guy named Negan,” explains Greg Nicotero, Executive Producer.

Season 6 saw the group in the most helpless dilemma of their post-apocalyptic lives. “At first they thought it was going to be like everything else, they’d find a way out,” says Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer.

But in a clearing in the middle of the night, on their knees surrounded by countless Saviors, there doesn’t seem to be an “out” in sight. Those that survive their introduction to Negan will have their eyes opened to a new, much bigger world.

“I think the fans should fear the most that Negan is capable of killing anyone. Anyone that you love on the show, in a split second, could be gone,” Hurd warns.
