TRAILER: Graveyard Alive: A Zombie Nurse In Love
This is not a new film we had just missed it previously. I do have to preface this with: Talk about a description that really tries to oversell the plot. Usually if I see a ‘blurb’ of a movie that looks like it could be the first chapter in a novel I worry about the film. I think it’s going to be horrible, it’s being oversold, it’s trying to make up for a bad telling of the plot in the film itself. This is one of those few times that doesn’t look to apply as the film itself looks generally entertaining!
This is the story of Patsy Powers, a lonely, homely nurse who works in a hospital alongside her former high school sweetheart, the handsome Dr. Dox, and his current girlfriend Goodie Tueshuze, an annoyingly pretty cheerleader type.
One day, a studly Woodcutter comes in with an axe through his head. Funny enough it doesn’t seem to hurt he confesses. Unfortunately, he emits a noxious smell which drives away everyone but the steadfast Patsy. They quickly become friends and share a kiss. This is when Patsy’s life changes forever. The Woodcutter unintentionally bites her hand and Patsy runs off to go bandage herself. Meanwhile, Kapotski, a former doctor-turned-janitor from Eastern Europe, has been observing the Woodcutter’s odd lack of pain and weird smell. He realizes he is a zombie and drives a stake through his head. Patsy returns only to think the Woodcutter has fallen asleep and rejected her.
Patsy is plagued by weird dreams as the zombie infection begins to take a hold in her body. The next day she learns of the Woodcutter’s demise, none being the wiser to his true cause of death. Kapotski begins to observe her as he suspects she’s been bitten by the zombie and will soon fall prey to the curse.
Patsy begins to undergo changes. She dresses sexier and starts using makeup. She even begins to go after her old flame, much to the despair of Goodie, who sees Patsy as a usurper of her popularity among the staff. Goodie vows to find out the secret to Patsy’s new power. Kapotski finally realizes that Patsy has become a zombie and tries to do her in. She manages to kill him instead. This is when her real hunger for human flesh begins, as she accidentally tastes a bit of Kapotski in their struggle.
Patsy unwittingly bites an orderly she’s been going out with in lieu of Dr. Dox, unwittingly infecting him. She also begins to dispatch sick and annoying patient to a quicker death so she can freeze their flesh for her meals.
Goodie, now a surrogate for the deceased Kapotski, tails Patsy and finds his writings on the zombie curse plaguing the hospital. She tries to convince Dr. Dox and her father, who also happens to be the Hospital Administrator of Patsy’s true nature. Both think she’s merely jealous of Patsy’s newfound popularity and the fact that both women are vying for the position of Head Nurse.
Little by little Dr. Dox is taken in by Patsy’s charms and becomes more and more annoyed with Goodie’s prudishness and paranoia (did I forget to mention that Goodie won’t “give it up” to the handsome doctor before they’re properly married?). Goodie tries to catch Patsy in the act of eating a cadaver but only manages to get into a cat fight with her, which is quickly broken off by the doctor and the hospital administrator. Finally fed up with her shenanigans, he and her father decide to lock her up in a sanatorium. Patsy and the doctor go home together and consummate their long delayed passion!
When Dr. Dox goes to visit Goodie in her new “home” she notices the bite mark on his neck and vows to cleanse the hospital of the zombies. She manages to escape and runs back to the hospital to try and kill Patsy once and for all.
She soon realizes that all her friends and former colleagues have been turned into zombies. They surround her. She screams…

Looks Interesting enough!
This one is actually out too we just haven’t had a chance to get our grubby little hands on it to review yet!
I just saw this one and It really wasn’t that bad.
I think you’ll like It.
This movie is pretty terrible. I would stay away.
Well that’s a shame. At least we’ll know what to expect when we eventually get a copy to review.
I’d say it might be worth a look just for the unintentional comedy, but, yeah, it’s a pretty bad movie. It was filmed as a silent film and then dubbed over later so there’s a lot of over-the-top mouthing of words (which don’t quite match), some greatly exaggerated facial expressions, as well as some truly laugh-out-loud non-verbal communication.
Well, it’s definitely on the list if we can get a review copy but not going out of my way to find quite yet with how many movies we have backlogged 😉
